Why You Need a Motor Protection Circuit Breaker
Eaton DILM contactors control motors but don't protect them. Eaton Motor Protection Circuit Breakers (MPCBs) provide:
- Short circuit protection (instantaneous)
- Overload protection (thermal)
- Phase loss protection
- Manual disconnect (isolation)
1. Small Motors (0.1A-12.5A): PKZM0
For motors up to 5.5kW. Installed before DILM7-17 contactors:
- PKZM0-0,25 — 0.16-0.25A, $85
- PKZM0-2,5 — 1.6-2.5A, $85
- PKZM0-10 — 6.3-10A, $95
- PKZM0-12 — 8-12A, $95
2. Medium Motors (12A-40A): PKZM01
For motors 5.5kW-15kW. Before DILM25-40:
- PKZM01-16 — 10-16A, $120
- PKZM01-25 — 20-25A, $140
- PKZM01-40 — 32-40A, $175
3. Large Motors (40A-63A): PKZM4
For 18kW-30kW motors. Before DILM50-65:
- PKZM4-50 — 40-50A, $320
- PKZM4-63 — 55-63A, $420
