EN 12453 (EU Safety Devices for Power-Operated Doors)
- Effective date: 2000, updated 2017
- Scope: All power-operated doors and gates
- Required safety features:
- Force limitation (max 400 N for sliding doors)
- Anti-crushing protection
- Self-testing safety edges or photo beams
- Hold-to-run control option for low-risk use
EN 12604 (EU Mechanical Doors)
- Effective date: 2000
- Scope: Mechanical requirements for all doors
- Required: Mechanical strength, balance, deflection limits
