Extending 893MAX Range
The 893MAX has a 100m line-of-sight range, but building materials and interference reduce this. Here are 5 proven methods to extend range.
1. Replace Battery
Old or low CR2032 battery reduces range. Replace with fresh CR2032 every 12-18 months. Cost: USD 1-2.
2. Install External Antenna on Opener
The standard opener antenna is short. Install a longer external antenna (USD 5-15) on the opener. Can extend range 2-3x.
3. Install RF Repeater
For commercial or large buildings, install an RF repeater (USD 30-80) that boosts signal. Can extend range to 200m+.
4. Move Opener Antenna Position
If antenna is mounted horizontally, reposition to vertically. Vertical antennas have better omni-directional reception.
5. Use Higher Gain Replacement Antenna
Replace standard antenna with 5 dBi or 7 dBi high-gain version. Can extend range 50-100%.
