Controlling Somfy and Dooya Motors with One Remote Setup
Mixed installations with both Somfy and Dooya motors are common in renovation projects. This 2026 guide explains how to organize group control across the two brands.
1. Protocol Reality
Somfy uses 433.42 MHz RTS. Dooya uses 433.92 MHz rolling code. The two are not directly interchangeable. A single remote cannot operate both brands simultaneously without modification.
2. Practical Group Control Options
Option A: Use two remotes, one for Somfy motors and one for Dooya motors. Acceptable for residential use where the homeowner can keep two remotes on the wall.
3. Option B: Smart Hub Integration
Smart home hubs (Tuya, HomeKit, Alexa with Somfy TaHoma or Dooya hub) can accept commands from a single app and forward them to the correct motor. This requires WiFi-connected bridge modules.
4. Option C: Replace One Brand
If the installation is in progress, consider standardizing on one brand. RF Mando supplies replacement remotes for both Somfy RTS and Dooya protocols, so post-installation replacements remain easy.
5. Sourcing Strategy
For distributors, stock both Somfy-compatible (433.42 MHz) and Dooya-compatible (433.92 MHz) replacement remotes. They share physical appearance but use different firmware.
