Eaton DILM Contactors: How to Select the Right Coil Voltage for Industrial Applications

author
1 minute, 45 seconds Read

Why Coil Voltage Matters

The DILM contactor coil voltage must match the control circuit supply. Common choices: 24V DC (for PLC direct drive), 230V AC (for direct mains control), or 110V AC (for industrial control panels).

DC Coils (RDC Series)

  • RDC24: 24-27V DC — for PLC direct drive
  • RDC12: 12V DC — for battery systems
  • RDC48: 48V DC — for telecom / DC bus
  • RDC60: 60V DC — for solar / battery
  • RDC220: 220V DC — for high-voltage DC control

AC Coils (230V Series)

  • 230V 50Hz / 240V 60Hz — for European / North American mains
  • 110V 50Hz / 120V 60Hz — for North American control
  • 400V 50Hz — for industrial 3-phase derived control
  • 24V 50/60Hz — for low-voltage control circuits

Selection Guide

Choose DC coil (RDC24) when driving directly from PLC output. Choose AC coil (230V 50 Hz / 240V 60 Hz) when mains control is available.
