When Private Label Pays on a Component
A contactor is not a branded product at the panel builder’s bench. Nobody asks whose contactor is in the panel. What a distributor does brand — the carton, the label, the reference — matters only where the buying decision is made, and for most distributors that is the reordering agent at the wholesaler.
So the case for private label on a contactor is a case about reordering behaviour, not about consumer recognition. At enough volume it is worth doing; below that it is a fixed cost with no return.

The Numbers
| Aspect | Wholesale compatible | Private label |
|---|---|---|
| MOQ | 100 pcs per SKU | 1,000+ pcs |
| Mould / tooling cost | None | Amortised across the programme |
| Lead time | 7 days | 20-25 days |
| Packaging | Neutral / bulk | Your artwork, your barcode |
| Break-even | Immediately | Roughly the second order |
| Best when | Repair and replacement volume | Planned programme volume |
What We Ask For Before Tooling
- Your SKU list and volume per SKU, not a combined total. Frames and coils have different reorder cycles.
- Your market, because the certification scope and the labelling requirements both follow it.
- Your artwork or reference convention, or permission to adapt an existing shell. We do not reproduce another manufacturer’s industrial design.
- Your packaging and barcode requirement, including any language requirements for your market.
The Honest Risk
Private label ties your stock to one supplier’s tooling and to a 20-25 day lead time. That is fine for a planned programme and painful during a stock-up promotion. Most successful customers run private label on their two or three highest-volume frames and buy everything else wholesale.
A contactor is the least brand-driven purchase in the panel. Private label on it is a reorder-logistics decision, not a marketing one — and it should be judged that way.

Compatibility and IP Position
Eaton and DILM are trademarks of Eaton Corporation plc. Our compatible contactors are independently engineered replacements using our own design and our own tooling, matched to the published frame size, current rating, terminal layout and coil options of the DILM family. We are not an authorised Eaton distributor, we do not apply Eaton branding to our goods, and no Eaton trademark or patent is reproduced on our product. Where a project specification requires an authorised-channel part, that part must come from Eaton.
