Pairing Universal Cloner with Fixed-Code Receiver
After copying the code from an original remote, you may need to register the cloned remote with the receiver. Here is the pairing process for fixed-code systems.
Step 1: Copy Original Code
First, copy the code from your original remote to the universal cloner using the self-learning function (see earlier blog post).
Step 2: Locate LEARN Button on Receiver
- LiftMaster/Chamberlain: Behind light cover, yellow square button
- Genie: Behind lens cover
- Hormann: On operator housing
- NICE: On control board labeled LEARN
- CAME: On control board labeled P1
Step 3: Activate Receiver LEARN Mode
- Press and release LEARN button
- Indicator LED will glow steady (usually 30 seconds)
Step 4: Send Code from Universal Cloner
- Within 30 seconds, press and release the cloned button on universal cloner
- Receiver LED will flash to confirm registration
Step 5: Test
Press the cloned button from a distance. Door should activate. If not, retry from Step 3.
