Why Telis 4 RTS Is the Volume Handset in European Blinds
Telis 4 RTS is the four-channel RTS remote that a roller-shutter or awning installer hands over more than any other in the European market. Four channels means it can drive up to four independent screens or zones from one handset, which is why it appears in quotes for apartment blocks, hotel rooms, and small commercial terraces as standard.
For the aftermarket, the opportunity is straightforward: the installer needs a cheap spare or a site-handover unit, and the end customer needs a replacement after a lost handset. Both buyers search on the same model number.

What "RTS" Changes Technically
RTS is Somfy's radio protocol, operating in the 433.42MHz band. A remote that transmits at the right frequency but uses a different rolling-code scheme will not learn into the receiver. So when a buyer asks whether our unit is "Telis compatible", the answer is specific: it transmits an RTS rolling-code signal in 433.42MHz and learns into RTS receivers via the standard programming button sequence.
What Installers Ask Us Before Ordering
- Does it learn into an existing RTS receiver? Yes — same DIP-switch-free learning routine as the original: hold the receiver programming button until the LED flashes, then press a channel button on the handset.
- Can one handset drive four motors? Yes, one button per channel. Rolling shutters, awnings, and screens can be mixed on the same handset.
- Does it need a wall transmitter? No, but we do supply wall-mounted variants on request at higher MOQ.
- Channel 1-2-3-4 numbering: Buttons are labelled 1-2-3-4 exactly as the original, so installers can hand it to an end customer without an instruction sheet.
Margin Reality for Installers and Distributors
An installer buying one or two units is a retail buyer and not our customer. Our customer is the dealer buying 500 or more. At that volume the interesting number is not unit price but defect rate: an RTS remote that fails to learn in the field costs the installer a return trip, and that return trip costs more than the entire saving on the handset.

Compliance Position
We do not manufacture Somfy product. Somfy, Telis, and RTS are trademarks of Somfy, referenced only to identify the receiver families our compatible handsets are engineered to pair with. Our products use our own PCBAs and housings and are tested against reference RTS receivers, not against Somfy engineering documents. Certifications held: CE-RED and RoHS; FCC Part 15 applies to our 315/433MHz variants sold into North America.
