Why the RTS Handset Is the Volume Repair Part
An RTS installation is commissioned once and then serviced for years. The motor and the receiver stay; the handset gets lost, dropped, or handed over without a spare. For an installer, that means the replacement handset is a repeat-order item rather than a project item, and the supplier who keeps it in stock wins the follow-up call.
That is the commercial shape of this category. The motor is capital; the handset is consumable. Distributors who treat the handset as an accessory end up chasing stock; distributors who treat it as a repeat-order line keep the installer supplied.

What the Designation Tells You
| Configuration | Covers | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|
| 1-channel | Single screen, single motor | Residential replacement, simplest handover |
| 2-3 channel | Two or three screens | Small commercial, apartments |
| 5-channel | Up to five screens or zones | The most common installer specification in Europe |
| 16-channel LCD | Large sites, grouped zones | Hotel, apartment block, multi-terrace commercial |
Channel Configuration: Where the Money Is
Most European blinds and awning installations quote a one-channel or five-channel handset, with sixteen channels used on larger sites and for multi-zone control. The channel count is the variable that decides whether a replacement is acceptable to the installer, because they are handing it to an end customer who already has a working mental model of the buttons.
The safe buying rule: match the channel count of the incumbent, not the nearest available model. A five-channel handset replacing a four-channel unit creates a service call, and a service call costs more than the saving on the handset.
The Technical Specification That Matters

- Code system: RTS rolling code, learned into the receiver via the standard programming button sequence.
- Housing variant: handheld, wall-mount or LCD keyfob. Confirm which your market uses before committing a batch.
- Certification: CE-RED and RoHS for EU distribution; RCM documentation available for Australia.

What to Verify Before Ordering
- Sample tested against a real installed receiver, not a bench unit. RTS learning behaviour varies between receiver generations.
- Channel count matches the incumbent, and the button numbering is identical.
- Test reports ship with the batch, with the model number on the report matching the model number on your order.
- Mixed-SKU cartons are acceptable and we produce a carton-level packing list that breaks out quantities by SKU.
