Certification Is a Market Question, Not a Product Question
The same contactor can be perfectly legal in one market and unsellable in another, because the certification requirement follows the destination rather than the product. A buyer importing into the European Union needs CE-RED and RoHS documentation for the EU; the same unit into Australia needs RCM documentation; North America needs FCC Part 15.

Certification by Destination
| Destination | Requirement | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| European Union | CE-RED, RoHS | Electrical safety and EMC plus hazardous substances |
| United Kingdom | UKCA or CE accepted per market rules | Check the current UK position at order |
| North America | FCC Part 15 | Radiofrequency and unintentional radiator requirements |
| Australia / New Zealand | RCM | Electrical safety and EMC conformity |
| Other markets | Market-specific | Confirm with your customs broker before ordering |
What to Ask For Before You Order
- Test reports that ship with the batch, not a certificate you have to request after the container has sailed.
- The model number on the report matching the model number on your purchase order. This single check prevents the majority of customs problems in this category.
- Who holds the certification — the manufacturer or a trading intermediary. A supplier who cannot answer that plainly is telling you something about how the rest of the specification is handled.
- Whether the documentation scope covers your variant, because a coil voltage change can put the product outside the scope of a report issued for a different variant.
Ask any supplier whether they hold the certification directly or buy it in. The answer will tell you more about how the rest of their catalogue is sourced than any specification sheet will.
Importer Checklist
Classify every SKU with your customs broker before you order. Confirm HS codes in writing. Keep the batch documentation with your import file, not in a supplier’s folder — if a customs question arises eighteen months later, the documentation you can produce is the only thing that resolves it.

Compatibility and IP Position
Eaton and DILM are trademarks of Eaton Corporation plc. Our compatible contactors are independently engineered replacements using our own design and our own tooling, matched to the published frame size, current rating, terminal layout and coil options of the DILM family. We are not an authorised Eaton distributor, we do not apply Eaton branding to our goods, and no Eaton trademark or patent is reproduced on our product. Where a project specification requires an authorised-channel part, that part must come from Eaton.
