Frequency Is a Legal Allocation, Not a Product Option
Every country allocates radio spectrum, and the allocation is enforced. A remote built for the North American band cannot legally be sold into the European market, and one built for the European 433MHz allocation will not be accepted into Australia. This is not a preference; it is the reason a single “universal” SKU sold worldwide is usually a single SKU for one market.

Allocation by Market
| Band | Market | Certification | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 315MHz | United States, Canada | FCC Part 15 | Legacy fixed code and some rolling code |
| 330-350MHz | Some European markets | CE-RED | Niche but persistent installed base |
| 365-390MHz | North America | FCC Part 15 | 1990s-2000s systems |
| 433.42MHz | Europe | CE-RED | Gate operators, rolling code dominant |
| 868.3 / 868.95MHz | Europe | CE-RED | Doors, barrier and access control |
| 868MHz | Australia, New Zealand | RCM | Same family, different market scope |
Why the Same Brand Exists in Two Bands
Door and gate brands operate regionally, and the same model number is often produced in more than one band for different territories. A dealer who orders “the 893MAX equivalent” for a market without confirming the band will receive a product that pairs in one country and not in another.
The safe procurement rule: specify by band and code system, and use the brand model number only as a secondary reference. Every quotation we send states the band explicitly for exactly this reason.
Certification Follows the Band
- North America — FCC Part 15 for the 315MHz products.
- European Union — CE-RED for 433.42MHz and 868MHz products, with RoHS.
- United Kingdom — confirm the current UK position at the time of order.
- Australia / New Zealand — RCM documentation.
Ask for the test reports that ship with the batch and check that the model number on the report matches the model number on your purchase order. A report issued for a different band does not cover your variant, and that is a customs problem rather than a quality problem.
