You Do Not Need to Fly to Xiamen to Check
Most buyers cannot visit a Chinese supplier, and the ones who can rarely visit more than once a year. Verification does not require a visit. It requires asking for artefacts that only a factory can produce and checking their consistency against each other.

The Eight Artefacts to Request
| Artefact | What it proves | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Board revision history | Own design evidence | A trading company has none to show |
| Bill of materials | Exact part numbers and grades | Lets you check a substitute against the original |
| Dated production photographs | Current, with a visible date | Old photographs prove nothing |
| QC test records | A dated record from a recent run | Confirms testing happens rather than being claimed |
| Mould inventory | The toolings on the floor | Enables private label and long-term supply |
| Warehouse layout | Cartons labelled and sorted by reference | Predicts the packing quality you will receive |
| Export document samples | A previous invoice and packing list | Shows operational maturity |
| Live video walkthrough | Unannounced, line running your product | The single most reliable signal without a visit |
How to Cross-Check Them Against Each Other
The artefacts are not a checklist to be satisfied — they are a set of documents that should agree with each other. A production photograph showing a line running a different board from the one named on the bill of materials is a finding. A QC record dated after the batch was packed is a finding. A board revision history that stops three revisions ago, on a product that has been in production for years, is a finding.
Cross-checking takes twenty minutes and catches more than a site visit often does, because a site visit samples a moment while the documents describe a process.
The Live Test
Ask for an unannounced video walkthrough of the line, on a day of your choosing, while the line is running your product. A factory that owns its production has nothing to hide and usually enjoys showing it. A trading company will find a reason the line is not running that day. This is the single most reliable signal available without a visit.
Anyone who owns a factory will let you watch it. Anyone who does not will find a reason. That one question resolves more uncertainty than a questionnaire.
What We Will Send You on Request
Board revision history, bill of materials, dated production photographs, QC test records from a recent run, a pre-shipment sample of your batch, and a live video walkthrough of the line. Ask, and we will send them.
